Lunar New Year Celebrations

Time: From 2.00pm

Each year, we celebrate Chinese New Year with vibrant activities led by our Chinese students. Through performances such as The Legend of Nian, dances and a lively lion dance, students share their culture and help build a strong sense of inclusion and respect across our school community.

Ride Safely to School Day

Time: From 9.15am

Our school takes part in Ride Safely to School Day. Students, with a parent or carer, will ride, scoot or walk to school while learning about road safety, including wearing helmets and staying safe. Students also complete a short obstacle course to practise key safety skills in a fun way at school.

ANZAC Day

At Harcourt Public School, students learn about the ANZAC legend and the importance of remembering those who have served our country. Each year, we commemorate ANZAC Day with a whole-school assembly, and our School Captains represent our community at the Campsie Dawn Service to show respect for past and present servicemen and women.

Year 5 and 6 students enjoy outdoor activities at Stage 3 Camp each year.

Our Stage 3 students will enjoy an exciting two-night adventure at the Great Aussie Bush Camp in 2026, filled with outdoor activities and hands-on learning. It’s a wonderful opportunity for students to build friendships, grow in confidence, and create lasting memories in a fun and supportive setting.

Students participate in NAIDOC activities each year.

NAIDOC Week

NAIDOC Week is a special time for students to celebrate and deepen their understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture through hands-on experiences such as bush tucker tasting, boomerang throwing, and ochre painting. It is a meaningful week that encourages respect, learning, and appreciation of the world’s oldest living cultures.

Book Week is a wonderful celebration where our school community comes together to share a love of reading through our exciting character parade, Book Fair, and Great Book Swap. Families are also invited to join their children for a relaxed picnic at recess to enjoy reading and celebrate the magic of books together.

Our Multicultural Day brings the Harcourt Public School community together to celebrate the many diverse cultures within our school through singing, dancing, music performances, and colourful cultural dress. Families also enjoy a picnic with their children, making it a vibrant day of connection and cultural pride.

Our Remembrance Day assembly is a heartfelt and meaningful occasion where students come together to honour and remember the bravery and sacrifice of our servicemen and women. Students show great respect and pride, making the event a powerful reminder of our shared history and values.

Students from Years 2 to 6 can participate in Swim Scheme each year.

Swim Scheme

Date: Nov 2026 (for 2 weeks)

Time: 8.40am

The two-week Swim Scheme Program offers Year 2 to Year 6 students daily swimming lessons that build water confidence and develop essential water safety and survival skills. Places are limited, so we encourage families to secure a spot early for this valuable learning opportunity and life skill.

Harcourt Public School’s Year Six Graduation Farewell Dinner is a special night filled with dancing, delicious food, graduation certificates, and plenty of fun. It celebrates the end of the students’ primary schooling at Harcourt before they begin high school, offering a wonderful opportunity to honour their achievements and create happy memories with friends.
