About the Harcourt P&C
Harcourt Public School Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association is a friendly and interested group of parents who work together to support the school at various events throughout the year including fundraising activities that raise important funds to spend on quality resources our children need to keep receiving the rich and exciting educational opportunities on offer at Harcourt Public School.

The P&C is a forum in which parents can become involved in their child's school. At meetings, our Principal discusses the news of the school and parents are able to have a say in what happens at school and to share thoughts and ideas with other parents and teachers. Being part of the P&C is a great way to find out what is happening in the school and to get involved in making our school a great place for our children and teachers. Everyone is welcome to attend meetings and children are welcome onsite during meetings. We welcome new parents and community members at any time throughout the year and attendance at all meetings is not mandatory. If you would like to join as a member of the P&C, the annual membership fee is $2.00 and gives you the right to vote during regular meetings. New member application forms are available at the School Office.

We are always keen to hear about any issues affecting your children as well as ideas for improving the school. Members often volunteer some of their time throughout the year to assist in fundraising efforts to help the school pay for learning resources and school structures. This benefits 'all students' at our school.

Fundraising

One of the roles of the P&C is fundraising. All profits are contributed to the school, to provide better facilities than government funding covers. Some of the fundraising activities we have undertaken in 2022 include: an Easter Raffle, Mother’s Day Stall, Election Day food stall, Book Week Home Reader Books Fundraiser, Father’s Day Stall, Bunnings BBQ (occurring in Term 4), and Fun Day (occurring in Term 4).

Student Injury Insurance

From the success of our recent fundraising initiatives, the P & C are pleased to have the Student Injury Insurance policy reinstated from February 2022 up to and including 31 January 2023.

The policy covers every student at Harcourt Public School. The policy pays a percentage, which differs based on the injury, to a maximum value.

If any parents have children that were involved in an incident where think they could be covered by the insurance, please refer to the information provided by the insurance company in the PDS and Notice to Claimants and email the P & C at pandchps@hotmail.com

NSW Government’s 2020 Community Building Partnership Fund

Following our successful application for the local Community Building Partnership Fund in 2020, the Harcourt Parents and Citizens Association were very pleased to recently present our Principal; Mrs. Holt with a cheque for $20,500!

These funds contributed to the upgrade of the senior courtyard and the installation of synthetic grass.

The works were completed over the summer school holidays, the improvement to the ground covering looks fantastic and the space is now significantly better utilised.
